# FAQ

> Quick answers to common GingerBIM questions.

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="How do I get my model into GingerBIM?">
    GingerBIM accepts three types of model data: **SketchUp**, **Rhino**, and **IFC**. For SketchUp and Rhino, download the dedicated connector from the app's [**Connectors** page](https://app.gingerbim.com/connectors) and publish straight from the modelling tool; IFC files are uploaded directly to a model. See [Connectors](/connectors/overview).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Do I need to install anything?">
    GingerBIM itself runs entirely in the browser — the 3D viewer, schedules, drawing generation, and sheet export need no installation. To publish from a native modelling app, though, you download the connector for your preferred tool — SketchUp or Rhino — from the [Connectors page](https://app.gingerbim.com/connectors). IFC uploads need nothing installed.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why can't I edit Location, Geometry Data, or Relationship on an element?">
    Those sections are **derived** by GingerBIM — computed from geometry, levels, and space boundaries — so they're shown for reference but are read-only. Editing is allowed in the recognized property-set families (`SGPset_*` and the agency sets). See [IFC-SG & Element Properties](/model-data/element-properties).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="An element shows the wrong room under Location → Space. How do I fix it?">
    Space membership is computed from the element's position against the live space boundaries — you can't set it by hand. Fix the boundary or the element's position and republish, and the assignment updates. See [Spaces & Boundaries](/model-data/spaces).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="My drawing shows an 'update available' badge. What does it mean?">
    The model changed since the drawing was generated (a new version, a level edit, a status or material change). Use **Regenerate** to update the drawing in place — annotations are kept. See [Generating 2D Drawings](/drawings/generating-drawings).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can several people work on the same model at once?">
    Yes — GingerBIM is multiplayer. Property edits, materials, schedules, and drawings sync live between collaborators in the same project.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The 3D viewer feels slow. What can I do?">
    On most Windows laptops and desktops, the browser runs on the low-power **integrated** GPU by default while the faster dedicated NVIDIA or AMD card sits idle. Switching your browser to the dedicated GPU is a one-time Windows setting and makes a large difference on heavy models. See [Viewer Performance & Your GPU](/troubleshooting/viewer-performance).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What do PDF and DXF exports contain?">
    Whatever you've laid out on your sheets — drawings, schedules, title blocks, and annotations — exported as **vector** output, so lines and text stay crisp and CAD-editable. See [Sheets & Canvas](/canvas/sheet-builder).
